★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 시도기념물 제128호 - 충열공 이대원(1566∼1587)과 충장공 정운(1543∼1592)을 모신 사당이다.
이대원은 선조 20년(1587) 녹도만호가 되어 남해안에 출몰하는 왜구를 대파하였고, 다시 흥양에 왜구가 침입하자 맞써 싸우다가 손죽도 해상에서 순절하였다. 이에 선조는 사당을 지어 모시게 했는데 이것이 쌍충사의 전신이다.
정운은 선조 24년(1591) 녹도만호로 부임하여 임진왜란이 일어나자 이순신 장군과 함께 목포·당포·한산해전 등에서 용감히 싸우다 부산 몰운대에서 순절하였다. 선조 25년(1592) 이순신 장군의 청으로 이대원과 함께 사당에 모시게 되었다.
정유재란으로 불타 버린 것을 숙종 7년(1681) 새로 짓고, 2년 뒤 쌍충사로 사액되었다. 영조 11년(1735)에 보수하였고 고종 5년(1868) 흥선대원군의 서원철폐령으로 폐쇄되었다가 1922년 고흥향교 선비들이 다시 지었다. 지금 있는 건물은 1942년 일본인들이 폐허로 만든 것을 1957년 다시 고쳐 지은 것이다.
건물 배치는 맨 위쪽에 앞면 2칸·옆면 1칸 반의 사당이 있고 아래쪽과 왼쪽에는 앞면 5칸·옆면 3칸 규모의 강당이 있다. 오른쪽 밑으로는 강당과 마주보게 관리사를 배치하였다.
Souvenir Monument No. 128-This shrine is dedicated to Lee Dae-won (1566-1587) and Chung Un-gong (1543-1592).
Lee Dae-won defeated Wagyu in the south coast of the ancestor 20 years (1587), and wrestled again when he invaded Heungyang. So the ancestors built a shrine, which is the predecessor of Ssangchungsa.
Chung Woon was appointed to Nokdo Bay in the ancestor 24 years (1591), and when Imjin War broke out, he fought bravely at Moolpo University in Busan, fighting with Mokpo, Dangpo, and Hansan Sea Battle. In 2592 (1592), he was enshrined in the shrine with Lee Dae-won at the request of General Yi Sun-sin.
It was burned by the oil refinery in seven years (1681) in Sukjong, and two years later, it was sold to Ssangchungsa. It was renovated in 1735 (1735) and closed by Heungseondaewon Army's Seowon Abolition of 5 years (1868). The building now is a reconstruction of what the Japanese made ruins in 1942 in 1957.
The building layout is at the top of the building with two fronts and one and a half squares, and at the bottom and left there are five front and three side auditoriums. In the lower right corner, the manager was placed facing the auditorium.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 고흥 녹동항구가 있는 쌍충사 바닷에 있어 운치가 있습니다. 푸른바닷가 아름다움이 있네요. 캠핑카들이 많이 모여 있는곳. 항구도시 입니다.
There is an impression in the pear-pear-shaped sea with the Kohyo Port. There is beauty on the blue beach. A lot of campers are gathering. It is a port city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 녹동항에 위치하고 있고 몇년사이 쌍충사도 그렇고 녹동항 주변도 관광객들이 편하게 와서 구경할수있도록 확바뀌었다.그래서 그런지 쌍충사 앞 주차장에 낚시꾼들및 캠핑족들이 많이와서 골치거리일 정도이다.쓰레기 무단투기는 기본이고 술판을 벌리는 무리도 있다.
이런거 빼고는 아주좋다.참고로 오후에 쌍충사에서 노을을 배경으로한 바다경치가 멋지다.

전라남도 기념물 제128호. 이대원은 1587년 녹도만호로서 남해안에 출몰하는 왜적을 맞아 전과를 올렸고 손죽도(損竹島) 해상에서 순절하였다. 시호는 충렬(忠烈)이다. 정운은 유성룡의 천거로 1591년 녹도만호로 부임했고 임진왜란 때에 이순신과 함께 옥포·한산해전 등에서 선봉장으로서 전과를 올리고 몰운대(歿運臺)에서 순절하였다. 시호는 충장(忠壯)이다.

Aside from this, it's great, but the seascape in the afternoon at Ssangchungsa is wonderful.
