★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 금탑사는 고흥군 포두면 봉림리 천등산 기슭에 위치한 사찰이다. 이곳은 대한불교조계종 송광사의 말사인데, 신라시대 원효대사가 창건했다고 한다. 창건 당시에 금탑(金塔)이 있어 금탑사라고 불렸는데, 금탑이란 인도의 ‘아육왕’이 자신의 어머니를 기리기 위해 세운 보탑을 건립한 것을 가리키는 것이라고 한다. 전라남도유형문화재 제102호로 지정된 극락전이 볼 만하다. 고즈넉한 사찰에서 천등산 울창한 숲을 조망하는 즐거움도 있지만, 이 사찰의 장점은 크게 두 가지다. 하나는 진출입로의 아름다움이다. 두 번째로는 주변이 온통 천연기념물 제239호로 지정된 비자나무 숲이라는 것이다. 원시림과도 같은 비자나무숲은 영화 ‘반지의 제왕’에 나오는 숲의 정령들이 사는 곳처럼 느껴진다. 그리고 절 뒤에는 지상 약 5m의 바위틈에서 떨어지는 약수가 있는데, 많은 사람들이 이를 마시기 위하여 찾아온다고 한다.
Geumtap Temple is a temple located at the foot of Cheondeungsan Mountain, Bonrim-ri, Podu-myeon, Goheung-gun. This is the word of the Korean Buddhist Jogye Songgwangsa. At the time of its establishment, it was called Geumtopsa because it had a gold pagoda, and it refers to the construction of a pagoda built by the "King of Kings" in honor of his mother. The Paradise Exhibition designated as Jeollanam-do Tangible Cultural Property No. 102 is worth seeing. There are also pleasures to view the lush forest of Cheondeungsan Mountain from the quiet temple, but there are two main advantages. One is the beauty of entry and exit. Secondly, the surrounding area is a non-tree forest designated as Natural Monument No. 239. Like a primeval forest, a non-tree forest feels like the forest spirits in the movie "Lord of the Rings." And behind the temple is a spring water falling from a rock gap about 5 meters above the ground, and many people come to drink it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 전남 고흥 금탑사 비자나무슾. 고흥을 방문하시면 꼭 가보시길 추천합니다. 진입로를 따라 계곡소리와 울창한 단풍나무 숲길. 그리고 금탑사의 정갈함. 비구니 주지스님의 수십 년 손길이 그대로 녹아있는 곳. 요사채 뒤에 펼쳐지는 비자나무와 동백나무 군락지. 정말 감탄사가 절로 나오는 비경이었습니다.
Geumtapsa Temple in Goheung, Jeollanam-do. If you visit Goheung, we recommend you to visit it. Along the driveway, the sound of the valley and the dense maple forest trail. And the refinement of the Golden Pagoda Temple. A place where the hands of the nun and governor for decades are melted. A colony of bija trees and camellias spread out behind Yosachae. It was truly a sight to behold.
