The alley smelt of old books. Romantic! The alley smelt of old books. Even if you don't buy any books here, you can still enjoy the mood. In the middle of the alley, there is a book cafe named 우리글방(Uri-geulbang). It's a good place to take a rest. They sell small desserts, coffee, beverages, and also old books. And the shop is full of second-hand books, posters and LPs. Great atmosphere :-)

Nice little area with alleys of bookstores, expected it to be bigger though. There are some stores selling a variety of genres of English books. Interesting pit stop after walking the markets nearby. There's a couple of cafes here to chill out too.

Cozy little jump in the past...close to it there is very big local market. A complete soak in corean life. To be seen!

Unfortunately due to the Harvest Holidays nothing was going on on the street but I could imagine how it would look like. The street has a nice flair and if you love books, it's a good place to visite.

The business has been on the downfall .variety of Used books are available on line. With a few clicks you can find what you want.24/7. Book shop owners look depressed. To make it worse, motor cycles run narrow alley with high speed which threatened tourist .

Very small and don't get your hopes up on finding rare (if any) english books. But still very cool. Nice to see and close enough to other fun spots.

The book street or book alley is a book lover's paradise. Secondhand books of all kinds can be found and purchased here for a very reasonable price. The downside for most tourists is that most books are in Korean. However, there's a nice amount of English books stuffed in random sections here and there. You just have to look for them. You can explore all the maze-like shops with 4- to 6-feet stacks of books threatening to topple over that make up the shelves, walls, and nearly leave no space to navigate. There are several cafes hidden within enclosed areas like basements or up rickety staircases that seem to lead nowhere. Finding these hidden cafes is just part of the fun. ? Just don't expect any organization or Dewey decimal system here.
