박경리 작가의 소설 토지에 배경이 되었던 악양 평사리 들판이라서일까 아무턴 벅찬가슴으로 양팔벌려 평사리 들판을 보듬는다. 어쩌면 그 상징으로 들판 한가운데 한 쌍의 소나무가 서 있는 것은 아닐까 혼자 생각해 본다.
그까닭인지는 모르겠으나 그소나무를 부부송 이라고 부른다...벅참의 상징, 사랑의 상징으로,
초록이 익어가는 봄,여름 황금빛으로 영글어가는 가을, 하얀 눈내린 겨울도 가슴은 벅차 오른다.
한산사에서 내려다 보는 평사리 들판은 소설가의 시선은 어땠을까 소설가의 마음은 어떠했을런지
마음의 꼬리엔 의문의 꼬리표가 따른다.
