1919년 5월 17일 개교하였다.
1999년 7월 7일 교육부 지정 행정선도 시범학교로
지정되어 운영되고 있다.
2000년 11월 1일 급식소 및 다목적실을 준공하였다.
교훈은 바르고 튼튼하며, 슬기로운 어린이이며,
교목은 전나무, 교화는 장미이다.
6학년 12학급으로 이루어져 있다.
독서발표회, 골든벨 퀴즈대회 등을 통한 독서활동을 특색교육으로 하고 있으며 특별활동으로 친목, 연예, 만화 등의 5개 동호회가 운영되고 있다.
