★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 청풍문화제단지 들어서면 앞에 제링크게 눈에 잘띄는곳에 있다
보물 제528호이며 1317년 고려 충숙왕때 승려 청공이 왕사가 되어 청풍현이 군으로 승격된것을 축하하기 위해 세운것이다
누각위에 있는 충수기에 발기가 있는데 그것을 보면 인조12년 1634년에 개창되었음을 알리고 있다 그후 1900년에 개보수 하였으며 1972년 홍수로 무너진것을 1975년 복원하였고
충주땜건설시 1983년 이곳으로 옮겨졌다
건물의 구조는 앞면 4칸 옆면 3칸으로 단층필적지붕이다
다락집 형태로 익량을 부설한것이 특징이며
한벽루는 밀양의 영남루 남원으광안루가 같은 건축으로 대표적인 조선의 누각건물이다
청평한벽루 라는 편액은 추사 김정희가 쓴것이며 하륜아 청풍의 아름다움과 한벽루의
경치데 관한글이 현판으로 걸려있다
