이 터널은 미천계곡이 있는 양양군 서면에서
진동계곡과 방태산이 있는 인제군 기린면으로 가는 고개에 있다.
여름철에는 타이어타는 냄새가 나면서
고개로 터널을 지나서 있는 공터에서
숨을 고르면서 내려갈 곳을
쳐다 본다.
지금은 완성되었지만 춘천양양간 고속도로공사중일 때는 큰 트럭을
추월하기도 했다.
어떤 때는 이 곳의 도로에선 한참동안 차를
볼 수 없는 장소이기도 한 도로이니
여유롭게 운전하면서 한가로움을
즐길 수 있는 도로이다.
깊은 계곡이 있는 곳이기도 하니
도로여행과 한가한 캠핑을 시작할 때는
주변환경을 자세히 관찰해야 한다.
