★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice area to shop and eat. Nearby the crowded eoulmadang-ro. Less packed but not always. The hongik children's park is right close as is hongik university. There are a lot of bars here and lot's of them are for the younger generation. If you are over 40 then stick to Thursday party.

Very happening place all day and till late night even on Sunday night. The food is very affordable as it's located near University area. Numbers of hotels, Airbnb to choose for tourist.
Got both affordable clothes to the high quality. Good to visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was fun! Stayed at hotel Bobo and walked like 2 minutes and was there. Lots of good shopping. They have lots of stuff and really good prices. Got facemasks, croc gems, cell phone accessories and a sweater for my little doggy etc... they have cute shoes!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We found a small Catholic Church near a place we were staying in this town. This church was well kept and organized even it was located away from Main Street, just one block walk to it. Surrounding it , there were businesses nearby and around this Church. There were handfuls of peoples went to Morning mass everyday. Their masses schedule M,Wed and Fri started 7:30 Am and T-Th were 10 Am. The priests were very warm and welcoming, even with the language barrier, they tried to accommodate us and very helpful. The churchgoers still kept the tradition and women still wore the veils on their heads. The music was so beautiful especially they were sung together in harmony. We attended almost daily when were were there , and were so blessed.

It’s so full of life, so many bars, so many stylish clothes to shop, so many Korean BBQ and so many handsome and cute young people ?
I really enjoyed my time there, and prefer it to Itaewon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hongdae has changed so much after COVID. Shops have changed hands but I'm happy to see some familiar shops. The area is still bustling and many new buildings have opened.
The latest trend seems to be photobooth shops and MBTI personality kiosks.
