★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 무려 3개교(두암, 무등, 각화)를 분리 개교시킨 대단한 학교다. 1970년 효동초 한켠에서 더부살이로 개교(13학급) 후 현부지로 신축이전했다. 이후 두암초 (87년), 무등초(88년), 각화초(90년) 차례로 분리시킬 정도로 엄청난 규모의 학생을 수용했고 광주에서 최초로 조성된 대단위 택지개발지구 였던 두암지구의 터줏대감으로서 꿈나무 인재양성에 크게 기여한 학교다. 2021년 현재까지 16,000여명의 졸업생을 배출했으며, 2002년 창단해 현재까지 운영중인 정구부(여자)는 수많은 유망주를 배출하였으며 지금도 전국대회에 상위입상하는 강팀이기도 하다.
한편, 문화초는 지난 2006년 구 교사를 해체하고 현대식 교사를 신축하는 재배치공사를 실시한 바 있다.
It is a great school that opened three schools separately (Dooam, Mudeung, and Gakhwa). In 1970, after opening the school (13 classes) in the corner of Hyodong-cho to Debusal, it was newly built and moved to the prefecture site. Since then, it has accommodated students of enormous size to separate them in order from Duam-cho (87), Mudeung-cho (88), and Gakhwa-cho (90). It's a school. In 2021, it has produced 16,000 graduates to date, and the Tennis Department (female), founded in 2002 and operating until now, has produced numerous prospects, and is still a strong team that wins top prizes in the national competitions.
Meanwhile, Munhwacho dismantled the old teachers in 2006 and carried out a relocation work to build a modern teacher.
