Grand Hyatt Seoul

Beautiful Hotel. Warm and inviting lobby with lovely entertainment. The breakfast buffet is excellent! Lovely views from the top of the hill. Rooms on the smaller side, which was fine since I was out most of the time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seoul!

This property used to be one of my favorites until my mother experienced an unauthorized entry by a hotel staffer into her room that I gifted her as a Globalist. The employee rang the bell and when she was delayed to get to the door, unilaterally and without written or verbal consent, opened the door for entry. This employee was not a housekeeping employee. When asked about the reason for entry, employee's response was "to use a power outlet." God forbid, my mom were dressed in un-presentable clothes. What this tells me is that this employee, despite having knowledge that the room was occupied (this was in the middle of a 2-night stay, so there was definitely no question of it being occupied), would have entered the room unilaterally without informing the occupants, used the room's power outlet, and left without asking. Whether the use-case was for a power outlet or not, it blows my mind that any hotel staffer could enter a room for purposes other than for serving the guests in that room.

Been to the Hyatt a few times just for the dining experience, but decided to book a room to celebrate a special day. We had an amazing weekend there and the staff went the extra mile for us, especially Ally (Eunhye). A few other things we enjoyed: First, you can't beat the amazing view whether it's in the day time or night. Second, the pool area is exceptional with several different areas to enjoy besides the main pool. Third, I'm not a huge fan of hotel buffets in Seoul, but the breakfast buffet was really good and reasonably priced. Fourth, the staff were all friendly, accommodating and provided excellent service to us in both English and Korean. If you want a true 5 star experience, I recommend the Hyatt. Some other hotels parade as 5 star hotels, but don't offer the same experience.

The view of Seoul Tower from the room is very beautiful. The color of the leaves, the city lights at night its so cool. The room looks is spacious and the bathroom is clean and the buffet is good.

Wonderful hotel on the hills of Namsan facing the Han river and overlooking the Gangnam area. Rooms are classic, cozy and comfortable. There is an outdoor icerink during the winter and I highly recommend going there when it starts to get dark.

Stay away from this hotel, if you are on a business trip and/or a globalist. Foothill location is excellent but that's it - stiff & inflexible staffs and oversold most of the time. Being a frequent traveler, everytime I stay in this hotel due to the nice trails to Naman mountain, but it ended up with not so pleasant experience. It took a few hours to check in last time, and took another 30 minutes to get to the room as elevators are fully packed with guests and visitors. At checkout, they even mistyped the folio so I had terrible time to get reimbursement from my employer. While exchanging emails, my stay was suddenly disappeared from my account and they stop responding my request via email. I had to make special requests to my employer's accounting which was a terrible experience. This time it's even worse - even after staying at another Hyatt hotel nearby for long enough without any problems, they kept saying that I cannot use hotel facilities with my family as my family was vaccinated in the US but cannot provide local proof of record, even if we were fully vaccinated & have exemption from the Korean government. The staffs didn't fix anything or even trying, just kept saying meaningless "I am sorry." Sorry for what? How can we let our kid sit away from us everytime we eat? They refused my simple, basic request - to arrange us to sit close while eating. After spending stressful 90 minutes (I even waited to check in although I arrived around 5pm, 2 hours after the designated check-in) I decided to return to another Hyatt hotel in Seoul. Everything was smooth there. As a frequent traveler who usually stays 100-150 nights at Hyatt premises every year, this is the definitely the worst hotel. Business travelers and Globalists, I say it again: STAY AWAY from this hotel. This is for young local travelers with discounted hotel packages. Do not expect any serious upgrade as a Globalist - you'll mostly end up getting upgrade from mountain view to river view with the same room size unless you use suite upgrade coupon - or any special treats. There are better hotels down south - both Park Hyatt and Andaz are much, much better than this one. You'll get to know the differences if you stay at both hotels.

Over priced! Definitely this is not a five star hotel. Very poor sound proofing. Due to renovate. No shops around Mountain view is worth nothing. Dishonest staff (requested for higher floor at check in, rejected, found out they got many rooms available after complaints) Small shower & toilet. In conclusion: I won't comeback even if they offer for free.

I visit the hotel for a Massage in their spa. It was very awesome. The rooms are very pretty and the service is awesome. It's worth the price. I definitely will come back again. As a foreigner you don't have to be afraid. Everyone speaks perfectly english. (How it should be for a 5* Hotel) *.*
