1000의 승려들에게 화엄경을 화엄벌(억새밭)에서 가르쳐서
성인이 되였다하여 천성산이라고하며.
풍광이 아름답고 금강산을
닮아다하여 작은 금강산 이라고
합니다.
제1봉은 원효산.제2봉은 비로봉입니다.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 100대명산 중 하나로 1봉쪽은 억새평전, 2봉쪽은 공룡능선이나 거대한 바위들이 돋보인다. 이외에도 은근 멋진 폭포가 많은데 무지개폭포쪽에는 멋있는 계곡이 있어 사람들이 물놀이를 하러 엄청나게 온다(입장료 받음). 2020. 3.부터 11.30.까지는 지뢰제거를 이유로 정상 입장을 통제한다.
원효대사와 관련된 역사가 깊은 곳 같다.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 억새풀이 물결치는 곳입니다 원효앞에서 정상1봉까지 아이들과 천천히 도시락먹고도 3시간정도 소요되었어요
