★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very old school, hidden in an alley, small, staffed with old Korean ladies who cannot speak English, 1980s interior, tight seating type of restaurant. But the stews are awesome. Get the 25,000 KRW 꼬리토막 (ox tail soup). It is a bit pricey but lots of meat with very little grease or fat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hearty comfort food! Ox tail soup and beef brisket soup. I will always remember this place. When I was in Seoul to attend a wedding, I want to find this place, but I could not remember where it was. Plus, I couldn't speak Korean, all I had was the area and an old picture on my smartphone. Luckily, we showed the picture around and found our way to the restaurant. We were so happy to have found this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a hard time searching for the restaurant because it was in a little alley, turning left from a ginseng store in the big street of nandemun. The personnel was nice, but hardly spoke any english, so be prepared. Oxtail soup was insipid but you can the the oxtail meat together with special sauce and veggies, which is very tasty. The kimchi, is the best I have ever tried in Korea, very local and deep of flavor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Like a treasure hunt ..once you found this hidden place you have the best family cooked oxtail soup in seoul No ambience and cramp sitting but the oxtail is 5 star and fast courteous local service A must try if you are in Namdaemun
