Try to get to the TOP and take down the tram. No joke to go up slope and remember to go toilet before going that area. We took bus to the TOP then walk alittle downwards to the tram.

We walk from down to top, at least to walk one way to experience it. There is a bus stop near to the top view if you really can't walk. Nice view for Busan city, can feel the strong wind.

This is the area that you can take your time and relax. Yet, be sure to bring a bottle of water as the areas get heated up pretty quickly. Small shops are everywhere and you'll enjoy it.

You can see the efforts of the local residents to preserve the past history since 1852. Though we foreigners may not be quite familiar with the distinguished historical figures, some interesting facilities and the cable car can be part of your memory.

I stumbled upon this place by accident and did not regret it! This place is full of Busan’s history and is a great touch of local culture that is tucked away into the old streets of the city. It was a 10 minute uphill walk to the base of the stairs, which by its name, has exactly 168 steps. For less adventurous tourist like myself, I’d recommend you to wait in line for the free monorail to reach the top. There are a few cute little cafes and a few shops at the top that are worth visiting. I loved the 168 Cafe right beside the monorail/steps for its view of the area, you can even see Gwangalli Beach. If you climb further uphill, there are some museums too. Also, I’d recommend you to walk down the stairs sicnr there is an observatory in the middle with beautiful art and installations. Just be careful where you step and hold on the the rails as you climb down:)

(2020.11) Certainly a hidden gem of place of interests in Busan city. A good example of how a local government can reinject new energy to an aging neighborhood. It will need the co-effort of the authorities, residents and new comers to reach the equilibrium. A place you should not be missed if you are interested in knowing the city from a different angle. Having said that, the city view at the top of the monorail station is stunning!!!
