One of the best coffee shops in Yeonsinnae! The owner cares about the coffee and the atmosphere is spot on!

I absolutely love this place. It's a little bit hard to find, but it's truly a hidden gem of this area. The owner of this place studied a lot about coffee, from picking the right coffee beans, to roasting and serving them in pretty cups. Apparently the owner also did the interior design of the shop and it feels warm and cozy. It's a must visit place if you are around this area.

Interesting concept cafe, similar to a Japanese kissaten style lounge with a large dining table for seating and antique porcelain coffee cups. The brainchild of Cho Yongmin, the YM Coffee Project is comprised of three different venues, (1) YM Coffee Project, (2) YM Espresso Room and (3) YM Roasting Factory (under construction). Both café spaces (1) and (2) are very unique in character and leave an equally deep impression on the customer. The former has been running now for over 5 years while their most recent venture, the Espresso Room opened in the midst of Covid-19 during the summer of 2020. Aside from running two cafes YM Coffee Project roasts coffee beans for wholesale, runs barista training courses and cafe consultant services. Coffee enthusiasts are welcome to join their coffee bean subscription service or pay for YM’s “Home Café Classes” where each participant can take a crash course in how to brew their own pour over coffee. (1) YM Coffee Project brings a whole new concept of "living room" interior to the cafe industry. Set in a European style sitting room, each seat along the wooden benchtop faces the central serving area, bringing you as close to the brewing as possible. The coffee cups are all imported or bought directly from Europe including rare Wedgewood (England) and Ginori (Italy) pieces as well as hand-painted German, Russian and Turkish sets too. The attention to detail and quality of service is impressive and, in some respects, reminds me of the “kisaten” cafes of bygone Kyoto and Tokyo. (2) YM Espresso Room is located at the end of Line 3, near Gupabal, but the interior tells a very different story. Inspired by European cathedrals while working in London and Budapest, Cho Yongmin has brought tranquillity to this suburban apartment complex. Lit by candles in the evening, this is a truly unique setting for an espresso. Atop the altar sits their prized La Marzocco 2 Group Linea PB Espresso machine, supported by Mazzer, Victoria Arduino and Anfim grinders.
