★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ordered the 뚝배기보신탕 and when I read 보신탕 I thought I just ordered dog meat!!!!!
Luckily when I asked if it was dog I was told that it was beef so I breathed a sigh of relief. The side dishes they brought out were good, especially the kimchi which had a nice spice and crunch to the cabbage.
The soup then came out and with it was a dipping sauce you had to mix and then add dip the meat into it. The dipping sauce was made with sesame oil, spicy mustard, red pepper sauce and pepper which was really nice. The meat was tender and soft and had bits of collagen and it didn't have a strong taste to it which if it was dog meat it would have had a strong smell and taste.
The broth reminded me of a pork bone stew and it was very warming for the cold winter night.
I also got some 만두 which didn't have much flavour in the filling and was kind of dry. I added it to my soup get give it some extra flavour.
