Korea's First Recycling Eco Park The parks of Seoul have their own different colors. Seonyudo Park, which opened in April 2002, is a relatively recent park, but it is definitely worth a visit. This is due to the harmony with the artificial terrain that the park does not have. Seonyudo Park is Korea's first recycled ecological park. Originally, the water purification plant was built in 1978 to supply tap water to Seoul residents for 20 years until December 2000. The oil refinery was reborn as an ecological park and a resting place for citizens in April 2002. The characteristic of Seonyudo Park is the proper use of existing facilities of Seonyudo Plant. Rather than tearing everything down and rebuilding it, he transfused nature into an old, artificial sculpture. As you stroll through the park, you can see traces of old concrete columns and canal walls. The ivy smiling above it colors the concrete space. The gray color of concrete and the green color of ivy are a strange combination. The building used as the water pump room was also transformed into the Design Seoul Gallery. The first basement and two ground levels provide a glimpse into the history of the Han River, which has flowed with Seoul, including the ecosystem of the Han River, cultural heritage and the lifestyles of its citizens. There is also a multimedia information gallery and a seating area with a view. It is a park where man-made and nature are in harmony with facilities that suit the information society. The purified water leads from the water purification garden to the environmental water park and touches the aquatic botanical garden where reeds grow and the garden of time. Passing the Water Purification Plant is an environmental water park. It is a waterside space decorated like a stream and is used as a place for children to play in the summer. Environment The Design Seoul Gallery is located between the Aquarium and the Aquatic Botanical Gardens and the green pillared garden is in front of the gallery. The green pillars of the garden have dozens of pillars left, which are the pillars that supported the building. Only pillars remain, but ivy and filiform trees grow along them. Green grows like a concrete column in spring and summer, and in autumn it turns to maple. At night, colorful lights are added to create a unique night view. The space symbolizes Seonyudo Park.
