The Institute of the History of Christianity in Korea
The Institute of the History of Christianity in Korea is an ecumenical and professional center for the study of the history of Christianity in Korea.
Since its foundation in 1982, the Institute has published scholarly monographs, translations, and source materials on the history of Korean Christianity.
The lnstitute’s biannual journal Christianity and History in Korea is widely recognized as a leading scholarly journal published in the Korean language regarding the history of Christianity in Korea. The Institute provides a unique fellowship of Christian scholarship for its members consisted of college professors, pastors, missionaries, and other interested individuals.
The Institute of the History of Christianity in Korea seeks to:
- Advance the study of historical, social, and practical issues related to the history of Christianity in Korea.
- Encourage interdisciplinary studies of Korean Christianity with other scholarly disciplines.
- Promote fellowship and cooperation among individuals and institutions engaged in studies related to Korean Christianity.
- Facilitate mutual assistance and exchange of information among scholars of the history of Korean Christianity.
- Support research and publication in church history and Christian missions.
- Collect church historical materials scattered in Korea and around the world.
