★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 포어클락(four oclock)은 ‘분꽃’의 영어이름으로, 분꽃은 오후 4시에 꽃이 피기 시작하여 동이 틀무렵 꽃이 진다고 한다. 윤우상 대표는 디자인의 작업이 분꽃처럼 오랜 고민과 생각끝에 늦은 시간 피어나는 작업인 것이 닮아서 분꽃의 이름을 회사이름으로 정하게 되었다고 했다. 그 이야기를 듣고 난 후부터 오후4시는 왠지 아이디어가 꽃필 것 같아졌다.
나는 우리회사 로고와 패키지 디자인을 위해 조금 과장섞어서 100개 넘는 디자인회사를 검토했다. 그 많은 회사중에 사실 마음을 사로잡는 디자인 회사가 많지는 않았다. 그만큼 디자인이 서로간에 통하기가 어렵다는 것일 것이다. 그런데, 포어클락의 디자인은 하나하나가 그 분꽃의 생각이 들게 했다. 그 회사의 상품을 제대로 표현하기 위해 고민하고 노력한 흔적이 뭍어 있었고.. 볼수록 재미있고 정이 가는 디자인였다. 우리 회사는 제주에 위치하고 있다. 제주에서 첫미팅을 가졌을때, 윤대표에게 받은 명함이 검정색이었다…’왜 디자인 회사인데 화려한 색상을 안하고 무채색인 검정을 했느냐?’고 지나가듯 질문을 했다. “고객분들을 위해 모든 색상을 남겨두고 싶은 마음이었습니다...” 그 답변에 내 심장이 쿵!하고 내려갔던 기억이 난다. 디자인은 모름지기 얼마나 많이 고객의 제품과 철학을 고민했느냐가 고스란이 나올 수 밖에 없다. 또한, 그러기 위해서는 그 인성적 품성의 깊이가 배어나게 된다. 그런 점에서 포어클락디자인은 나에게 따스한 디자인의 맛과 잔잔하면서도 놀라운 감동을 준 멎진 디자인업체이다.
 Four oclock is the English name for “bunch”, which is said to begin to bloom at 4 pm, and it is about to dawn. Representative Yoon Woo-sang said that the work of design resembles a work that blooms in late time after long agony and thought like a flower. After listening to the story, at 4 pm somehow, the idea seemed to blossom.
I overexamined more than 100 design companies for our logo and package design. Not many of those companies actually attracted design companies. The design will be difficult to communicate with each other. By the way, Fork Clark's design reminded me of that flower. There were traces of trouble and effort to express the company's products properly .. The more fun the design was, the more fun it was. Our company is located in Jeju. When I had my first meeting in Jeju, the card I received from Yoon was black. 'Why did you design company do not have brilliant colors and black achromatic colors?' “I wanted to leave all the colors for you ...” I remember my heart thumping down. Gosslan has no choice but to think about how much customers thought about their products and philosophy. Also, to do so, the depth of that human character is learned. In that sense, Fore Clock Design is a steamy design company that gave me a warm taste and a calming and surprising impression.
