★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 광주역을 오가는 기찻길옆에 자리잡고 수없이 지나가는 철마와 함께 44년의 역사를 쌓으며 그 짧지않은 역사만큼 수많은 꿈나무 인재를 길러온 용봉초등학교. 1977년 개교한 용봉초등학교는 현재까지 1만여명의 졸업생을 배출했다. 현재는 12학급규모의 비교적 작은 학교에 속하지만 1991년 태봉초 개교로 분리한 후로도 2000년 초반까지 많은 학생들을 수용했다.
(누리집 발췌) 학교는 어린이들에게 배움과 사랑 그리고 꿈을 심어주는 보금자리이며, 교육공동체의 화합과 참여는 교육을 이끌어가는 중요한 원동력입니다. 교사의 열정과 아이들의 꿈 그리고 학부모님의 관심을 모아 나날이 자라나는 우리 어린이들이 미래사회의 주역으로 자랄 수 있도록 '서로 존중하고 배려하는 따뜻한 마음, 스스로 공부하며 자신의 미래를 키워나가는 자율성과 창의성'을 키워가겠습니다.
Yongbong Elementary School, which is located next to the train tracks going to and from Gwangju Station, has built 44 years of history with iron horses that pass countless times, and has nurtured many dream trees as well as its short history. Yongbong Elementary School, which opened in 1977, has produced 10,000 graduates to date. Currently, it is a relatively small school with 12 classes, but it has accommodated a large number of students until the early 2000s after the school was separated by the opening of Taebong-cho in 1991.
