양양지역 한 송이가공업체자 지난 3년동안 무려 20여건의 발명특허와 상표등록을 마쳐 주목을 받고 있다.
(대표 박영학50·)는 지난 2004년부터 최근까지 ‘자연송이 함유꿀 제조방법’을 비롯 ‘자연송이 장기보관방법’, ‘자연송이주 제조방법’, ‘자연송이 국수·차·수육 제조방법’ 등 총 12건의 발명특허를 특허청에 등록했다. ‘천년의 활력, 예술’, ‘송이박사’ 등 고유의 상표등록만 8건을 보유하고 있다.
특히 한국식품연구원을 비롯 강릉대, 도립대 등 산·학과 연계한 송이버섯 가공식품 연구에도 박차를 가하고 있으며, 최근에는 ‘송이와 부산물을 이용한 고부가가치 가공제품 개발’ 및 ‘송이버섯을 이용한 초콜릿 개발’ 등에도 매진하고 있다.
이같은 활발한 발명특허와 연구활동에 힘입어 박영학 대표는 지난해 신지식인에 선정되기도 했다.
박 대표는 “양양송이는 국내 뿐 아니라 세계적으로 인정받는 특산품인데도 불구, 그동안 관련 가공식품 및 요리 등의 개발활동이 상당히 제한돼 있었다”며 “이제라도 전문기관과 연계해 송이를 개발할 경우 세계적인 특산품으로 인정받을 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다
