★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want Mexican food in this area, this place is quite nice. But do not expect too much. I feel like this place is more close to Koreanized American-Mexican food. There are a few of this restaurant in Seoul but somehow I like this one the most. The food is always good but last time (yesterday) when I came here the service awful. Had to walk down to the front to call the server.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great variety of delicious food. Close enough to the real mexican style(or maybe not).
I recommend this place for special occasions, maybe like a birthday party or any kinds of celebration. And apart from the good food they serve, the outstanding location (right next to Coex) and the lively, cheerful atmosphere makes this place even better. Not to mention their great customer service.
But this place is popular so you might have to go early to not stand in line or make a reservation beforehand, especially on weekends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you want tex-mex and are in Korea, go here. It's a little pricey, but most sit-down restaurant food in Seoul is. But worth it as it totally hits that craving for tex-mex goodness.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is not that easy to find On the Border in the COEX Mall but you can use one of the many touch screens to get directions in English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese (I think). There are also lots of helpful staff that will show you which way to go. On the Border is on the 1F above the COEX mall. Just up one escalator. If you find the BIG bookstore and reading area you can orient yourself. The restaurant was not very busy when we went. Maybe this is the COVID effect. The mood was good and the staff were nice but not very responsive. In fact, the place looked a bit overstaffed! And even then, they were slow to come over when I called them.
I love the complimentary chips that they give out when you first sit down. They do have a good selection of food and drinks. I ordered the taco salad and the vegetables did not look very fresh. To drown my sorrows I drank a few mojitos and my partner had a margarita. The drinks were good but all in all everything was too expensive for what we got. Yes, we got to eat a lot and we were full but the cost of one simple salad was, in my opinion, way too high.
