★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (대부분 문이 잠겨있음)조선 명종때 순천부사 이정 이 한훤당 김굉필을 기리기 위해 지은 서원 전라도 최초 사액서원 이며 바로옆 임청대가 있고 순천 시내와 가까워 도보로 견학가능하며 순천 향교가 200m내 에 있다.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 순천에 위치한 연산군 때 선비의 절개를 지킨 조선전기 김굉필을 추모하기 위해 세운 서원, 선조1년에 서원으로 승격하여 옥천으로 이름 불리게 되었다. 1597년에 소실되었고 이후 김굉필의 학문과 덕을 기리는 허건, 정지추, 심윤에 의해 재건되었고 또 1868년 대원군의 서원철폐령으로 소실되었다가 유림에 의해 복원되었다. 그 옆에 임청대가 있는데 연산군 때 귀양을 온 김굉필과 조위가 돌로 쌓아 만든 곳이다.
Located in Suncheon, the Seowon was established to commemorate Kim Heung-pil in the early Joseon Dynasty, who kept the incision of the scholar during Yeonsan-gun. It was destroyed in 1597, and was later rebuilt by Heo Geon, Ji Ji-chu, and Shim-yoon in honor of Kim Aung-pil's academic and virtue. It was also destroyed by Daewon-gun's demise of Seowon in 1868 and restored by Yurim. Next to it is Imcheongdae, a place made of stone by Kim Heung-pil and Jo-wi, who came to Guiyang during Yeonsan-gun.
