1952년 4월 2일 춘천시 제2종합국민학교로 인가되었다가,
10월 1일 다시 퇴계국민학교로 인가되었다.
1954년 9월 28일 남춘천국민학교로,
1996년 3월 1일 지금의 이름으로 각각 교명을 변경하였다.
1996년 10월 11일 남부초등학교가 분리되었다.
교훈은 "새롭고 바르며 튼튼한 어린이" 이며,
교목은 소나무, 교화는 진달래이다.
스카우트와 아람단·적십자 등의 클럽이 있다.
강원도 춘천시 온의동 550번지에 있다.
On October 15, 1951, it was opened as the Namchuncheon Branch of Chuncheon City General Public School.
On April 2, 1952, it was approved as the second national school in Chuncheon city,
On October 1, it was approved as Toegye National School again.
September 28, 1954 to Namchuncheon National School,
On March 1, 1996, each school name was changed to its current name.
On October 11, 1996, Nambu Elementary School was separated.
