계룡역으로 가다가 정차한 신태인역! 처음보는 역이라 생소하네요... 지식정보에서 간략하게 정리된 내용 올려드립니다^^ 신태인역은 호남선에 있는 기차역으로 감곡역과 초강역사이에 있다. 1912년 12월 보통역으로 영업을 시작하였다. 신태인은 지명보다 역명이 먼저 붙여진 곳이다. 백제시대에는 인의현(仁義縣), 통일신라에는 태산(太山), 고려시대에는 태산(泰山), 조선시대에는 태인(泰仁)이라 하였다. 원래 태인군과 북촌면의 양면(兩面)으로 분리되었던 바 1914년 행정구역 변경에 따라 용북면으로 합병 개칭되었으며 태인과 구별하여 군명에 따라 '신태인역(新泰仁驛)'이라 명하게 되었다. 새마을호, 무궁화호가 운행되며 여객, 화물, 승차권발매 등의 업무를 담당한다고 합니다.
