Ocean Road connecting Yeosu and Goheung .. Harmony Bridge, Dunbyeong Bridge, Nangdo Bridge, Jeokgeum Bridge, Palyeong Bridge, etc. Namdo Coastal Road connected by a total of 5 bridges. It's good to be able to get to the place where you could meet only by boat, but now you can go by car, A place that has not been developed yet.
박	박원석 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 팔영대교를 건너 적금도 회차로 까지 오면 그곳에서 회차로 우측 산길 도로를 따라 오르면 된다. 편도 1차선의 좁은 도로를 따라 내려오면 적금도 해안도로에 닿게 된다. 이곳은 조선 초기에는 ‘적호(赤湖)’라고 불리다가 ‘금’이 발견됐다 하여 쌓을 적, 쇠 금 자를 써서 ‘적금도’라 부르게 됐다. 일제시대 채광업자가 실제 금 시추 작업을 한 결과 금맥은 발견하였으나 양이 적어 중단하였다고 한다. 행정 구역은 여수이지만 고흥과 인접해 있는 지리적인 여건 탓에 고흥-적금도-둔병도-낭도-조발도-여수 화양면을 이을 연륙교 사업이 진행되고 있다. 섬의 지형은 남북으로 긴 형태를 갖추었고 저평한 섬으로 중앙은 지협부를 이룬다. 남북의 양 끝단이 동쪽 방향으로 휘어 있어서 동쪽 해안은 전체가 만입을 이루며 간석지가 넓게 펼쳐져 있다. 이 섬 중앙부의 동쪽 해안을 따라 길게 마을이 자리 잡고 있다. 섬의 서남쪽은 암석 해안이 발달되어 있으며, 어패류 산란지인 여자만 관문에 위치한 만큼 잡히지 않는 어종이 없을 정도로 어족 자원이 풍부하다고 한다.적금도에서 바라보는 다도해의 풍광은 너무도 아름답다. 또한 실제 사람들이 많이 거주하지 않고, 해수욕장이나 상점이 발달하지 않아 관광객도 거의 없다. 그렇기 때문에 한적한 해안길을 즐길 수 있는 최적지다. 해안도로가 잘 조성되어 있기 때문에 드라이브에도 좋고, 멋진 다도해의 풍광을 사진에 담기에도 좋다. 특이하게도 이곳 풍광은 역광일 때 더 멋진 장면을 포착할 수 있다.
