It is a literary museum where you can look into the history of Korean modern literature. In November 1997, it opened under the name of the East-West Literature Museum within the Gyewon School of Art and Design, located in Naeson-dong, Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Relocated to the Paradise Building Annex, Jangchung-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul on July 1, 2000. The museum will display more than 1,000 collections of poems and novels, 300 handwritten manuscripts of literary writers, 1,000 photographs, and 100 major literary magazines. It also publishes the quarterly magazine East-West Literature and Newsletter of Korean Modern Literature. The main facilities are the General Exhibition Hall, the Central Exhibition Hall, the Main Exhibition Hall, and the Video Room. There are lots of cafes as a resting place. The comprehensive exhibition halls include Kim Eck's collection of translation poems, The Choreography of the Brain (1921), Hyun Jin Gun's Fallen Man (1922), Choi Nam Sun's Back Pal Brainy (1926), and Kim Young Rang's Young Lang Poems (1935). The first editions of the literary works are on display. There are 523 first editions of poetry and 484 first editions of novels. Also, the first issue of various magazines, collections of poems and novels published during the Japanese colonial period, divided literature and North Korean literature are displayed. In the Central Exhibition Hall, there are about 300 handwritten manuscripts and letters by artists such as Lee Kwang-soo's essay 〈Sulsan and Na〉, Kim So-wol's poem 〈Conversion 』and Yoon Dong-ju's 〈Back to Night〉. In addition, photos and works of 20 artists who shed light on Korea are on display.
