★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was more than a wonderful stay at Intercontinental Pyoungchang Resort, South Korea last weekend.
Earlier I had a chance to stay at Intercontinental in HK, LA once for each and Seoul 3 times in every other year until a year before last year but a bit unknown Pyoungchang, South Korea this time was to celebrate my mother in law's 80th birthday with my family, which was a tremendously special trip for us.
In short, our experience at Pyoungchang was as awesome and touching as other Intercontinental locations or exceeded in some point.
From the moment we checked in, we got such a warm hospitality from the front desk until we checked out.
During our stay, it was an exceptional and in depth guest care that we will remember for good, it was all thanks to the front desk team, Mr.Jung Won Park and Mr.Chae Ki Im.
Specially "Mr.Chae Ki Im" tried his best to make our trip so special and memorable, he is the one who your leadership team should recognize and be proud to have him a part of your professional team.
Absolutely he is such a great asset to your organization.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited the same hotel some ten years back and decided to return after a very good stay. Getting through Korea VTL was laborious and complicated. the staff at Holiday Inn Alpensia and Suites were exceptionally helpful. Mr Dong HH personally helped me call the hospitals to check on swap test details. He also helped me to call the Korail to cancel and book new rides when I have a change in schedule. Knowing that we could not get into restaurants; he sought to find the ones we can. It is not easy to find good English speaker in Korea but Mr Dong speaks the language very well. His professionalism and friendly smile accentuate the warm hospitality of Holiday Inn. I will definitely go back again and recommend the hotel to my friends. In fact many of my friends have visited there after hearing what I said.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff is friendly, but hotel seems understaffed overall.
The room size was good, but the door in between the rooms leaked plenty of noise.
Cleanliness was okay, but there was cigarette waste in the toilet when we arrived, and we were not given soap until we requested it.
The phone was broken and had to be fixed.
Overall the experience was teetering on the line of acceptable, and definitely not up to the standard expected of this hotel.
One good thing was that the common areas smelled really nice, and I would like to know what they used.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stay here every year as I am a IHG member. All stay was nice with good staff at the property. When my daughter was ask me to buy toy in the 1st floor, the store was closed. However, one guy whose name is Kwon(?) helped us to buy. It was extremely helpful for our family. Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gym closed cuz COVID. We didn't know that when we booked. I would've brought swim clothes instead of gym clothes for the water park. You can go to the gym in Korea if you are vaccinated, so it's not cool that the hotel gym was closed.
Also, they advertised live entertainment in the lounge every night. Not true.
There should be truth in advertising. **Don't advertise if it's not offered.**

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A bit old and not good value for money. They replaced the amazing, only great feature they had: the fireplace on the ground floor, with a fake gas one..what a pity. It gave a sense of chalet like, warm, and cosy feel, and now it's a bit sad looking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good place. Friendly staff. The food was great. I used room service for breakfast. My expectation was very low because there were only 3 menus available. However food quality was excellent. Bread and egg scream on American breakfast was fabulous. Korean-style hangover soup was wonderful as well.
The area is basically for winter sports, meaning not many entertainments in Spring, Summer, and Fall. Though they built some fun things such as luge. It was very fun and the kids may enjoy that.
