★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 하남초등학교는 광주 광산구 신도시 지역 외곽에 자리하고 있다. 1933년에 개교한 오랜 전통을 지니고 있지만 한때 IMF 시절 폐교논의에 오른적도 있을만큼 부침을 겪고 도약한 학교기도 하다.
지난 2009년 기존 학교터를 고등학교과정 대안교육시설인 본보스코학교에 넘기고 현재의 위치로 신축 이전했다.
흥미로운 것은 '하남초등학교' 라는 동명의 학교가 현재 전국에 4개교나 있다. 이곳을 포함, 경기도 하남시, 부산광역시, 강원도(인제)에 있는데 교육당국이 학교 설립당시 동명의 학교가 있을 경우 대개 교명앞에 지역명을 덧붙이는데 특이하게 하남초는 전국의 4개교가 모두 지역명을 붙이지 않은 그냥 '하남초' 다.
 Hanam Elementary School is located on the outskirts of the new city area in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju. It has a long tradition of opening a school in 1933, but it is also a school that has gone through ups and downs and made a leap forward to the extent that it was once debated on closing school during the IMF period.
In 2009, the existing school site was transferred to Bonbosco School, an alternative educational facility for high school courses, and relocated to the current location.
Interestingly, there are currently four schools across the country with the same name as'Hanam Elementary School'. Including this place, it is located in Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do, Busan, and Gangwon-do (Inje), but when there is a school of the same name when the school was established, the education authorities usually add the local name in front of the school name.Unusually, in Hanam-cho, all four schools nationwide have local names. Not just'Hanamcho' everything.
