★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Cubanos, though not served on Cuban bread, are damn excellent. The fries, too, are very good. Hair of the Dog is a small joint, but cozy, and the beer selection is pretty good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The jolly old server alone gets this place 5 stars. I was surprised that this place had the feel of an English pub. Local craft beer options were reasonably priced. To echo another reviwer, the cubano sandwich was excellent. An essential stop for any local pub crawl.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place, great vibe! Owners are intelligent, heartfelt, enjoyable people. Beer etc. reasonably priced. Clientele tends to be smart, approachable, and upbeat about life. This is my favorite bar in HBC for relating honestly with people -- in other words, my favorite bar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I super dig their food. Curry chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches - excellent. Beers great. Atmosphere is local and the servers have great personality and are friendly. Even though it is supposed to be a place for grumpy old men I think they're nice.
I suppose my only critique is the wobbly tables, (beer spill danger) but that and the bookshelf exchange adds some charm.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A place where you can truly feel at home. The staff is warm and welcoming. If you are looking for a new local, and to make new friends in the community, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a quiet drink and to be left alone, no one will bother you either. A homey hole-in-the-wall if there ever was one.
Their sandwiches, the Cubano and the cheesesteak, are excellent as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A hole in the wall in HBC with delicious food and cheap drinks. The staff is friendly and it's right next to where the 02 bus stops. Usually plays rock music at a level that let's you hold a conversation with those next to you. Bathroom is clean and a good size. Smoking is outfront and the air conditioner works fine.
