★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 가수 조영남씨의 노래 제목인 '화개장터는' 전남 광양과 섬진강을 사이에 두고 있어 말투와 생활 방식도 엇비슷하다. 야생차로 유명한 하동의 전통시장을 나름 전통을 보전하기 위한 흔적은 보였지만 약간 아쉬운 면이 많이 보인다.
특히 간판은 어수선해 전통의 느낌을 퇴색시키는 느낌이 있다.
