About Glamorous Penguin
Glamorous Penguin is an independent café, opened by a group of young, enthusiastic ladies who have true love for coffee and delicious desserts. Glamorous Penguin focuses on making delicious baked goods, where the team focuses on ‘home-made’, ‘hands-down’ recipes which people might have tasted it from home.
We believe that happy chefs make happy food. To make ourselves be proud in our products, it should be the best we can offer. Our recipes are based from Europe and North America’s home-baking, where we localize and customize it to make it our ‘Glamorous Penguin’ way.
We aim to have open-kitchen, and use local produced goods and dairy as much as possible, without using chemical stuff we can’t pronounce, and we produce all our cakes and treats on the day, with great care and dedication. Our menus change on monthly basis, and also base on local seasonal ingredients that our pastry chefs proudly turn into wonderful creations. We do not ‘manufacture’- everything is made by hand in small batches by people who really care about food.
We believe in local, independent café, and like to be surrounded by local bakers, baristas and other independent retailers. We believe in giving it back to the society, and hold yearly bake sale and other events to donate back at the end of every year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really liked the orange basil cake. I didn't think it would work, but it was surpringly good. A bit dense, not airy, but also not overly sweet. It's got the right balance. Worth visiting to try their cakes. Wish I had more stomach to try their other creations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's very rare to find great cakes in the city, and this place comes pretty close to being authentic. Their red velvet cake is rich and uses actual cream cheese frosting. The cakes tend to be on the heavier side, so may not be for those who prefer airy cakes--these cakes are packed with flavor. Nutella cake is also amazing, despite it probably being a calorie bomb, you don't regret it at all.

The coffee is okay, but not great. Cakes look really nice and seemed really popular (I can’t say if they were as I didn’t try them).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great cafe! I had a yuzu (orange) tea which tasted good and there weren't many people around so it was easy to have a leisurely chat with a friend. Comfy armchairs too

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The café was meh at best. The only reason I ended up there was due to sudden snow fall.
It was quite pleasant during the brief window of time when there's a lack of customers, but the way seats are placed allow absolutely no privacy between tables - it's always super fun to listen to other's convos!
Dessert-wise I tried their Red Velvet Cake which had an extremely spongey texture. According to a friend's experience it was rock hard for her. So I guess it varies from day to day.
Two floors, one bathroom.
If you're nearby and just want to go to a cafe quickly, I guess.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cute cafè dedicated to my favourite animals! A must for penguin lovers. But I think they could add more penguin decorations, expecially at the second floor which is totally empty. The chocolate cake that I ate was tasty ^^
