In 2010 my wife had our 1st child with emergency C section and things couldn't have been handled more professionally. 2015 and 5 years on and things have gone mighty wrong. After her Caesarian section the nurse failed to switch on the drip for the pain relief (after my wifes insides had been removed, and a child cut out of her) for the longest 1 hour of her life. After a blood extraction the same nurse then did a blood pressure check which created a 1/2 golf ball size blood clot which my wife had to point out before the nurse realized her error. Medication handed to her in the hallway and not recorded followed by another nurse 10 minutes later handing her the same medication. Paperwork for our son was a complete disaster and they struggled to rectify their mistakes. Finally today having driven our 2 week old son 2 hours to Seoul for our son's hearing test we paid $20 for a Dr to state he needs a hearing test and that they couldn't do it today. If i could speak Korean they would still be talikng about the chewing out they would have received. The Dr's seem to be good but the nurses and adminstrators are RETARDS !!! Seriouly look again and maybe try SAMSUNG MEDICAL CENTER.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was scared to go to the hospital based on some of the comments written here, so I wanted to write my own review for people who might have to go.
I went to Gangnam Severance hospital due to an emergency on a Wednesday at around 10pm. I was very quickly attended by a nurse. My Korean is fairly good, but some medical terms are hard to understand, but everyone I talked to was able to communicate what had to happen effectively. Many of the nurses spoke English, and so did both the doctors I saw.
Every single person in the hospital was kind and efficient, from the staff at the front desk to the nurses and doctors. Yes, there was no excessive kindness or coddling, but there is a language barrier, and they are very busy.
I have had to go back for some follow ups and I have felt extremely well taken care of and I appreciate everyone who I have interacted with.
If you are a foreigner hesitating in going, please be assured that people are looking out for you there and you will receive good care. The only reason I am not giving it a whole 5 stars is because I was at the hospital for around 7 hours. This is not a problem and I understand my case involved many different parts, but some people might find this troublesome.
The follow ups were around an hour each. Thank you severance for easing my pain!

- Good Hospital. I'm fortunate not to be cured there, just come there for an ultrasound test, so my opinion isn't exactly .
- There are shutters bus go around hospital.
- Good Food court in 1st floor.
The obstacle for foreigners is that only a few employees know English.
