WHO I AM:

My name is François Saikaly Jr and I love bringing great stories about this beautiful world to life. I am a freelance cameraman / video producer based in Seoul, South Korea. My main areas of focus are in news, documentary, corporate and promotional video production.

I am from Ottawa, Canada and have been working in video production for over 12 years, 6 of which were in Seoul. I am a graduate from Algonquin College’s Television Broadcasting program in Ottawa. English is my native language, and I have a professional proficency in French and in Korean.

WHY SEOUL?

Because I love living here. For a very long time I have had an interest in Korean culture and learning Korean. After a few long vacations here I quickly learned that it’s a very fun place to live with a lot of interesting things to experience. Moving to Seoul was a very easy and natural choice for me.

WHAT I’VE DONE:

I have a considerable amount of experience working in news production and have shot several news pieces for Olympic Channel News, and most recently worked as a camera operator at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympic and Paralympic games. I have also shot pieces for Euro News, AFP, and Bein Sports.

I’ve also worked with various production companies to shoot corporate and promo videos for TOTAL, Airbus, Audi, Siemens and more.

WHAT I VALUE:

I am very passionate about the work that I do and am always aiming to produce the best results when working on a production. I am very happy to either work alone or with a team and I strongly believe that hard work, flexibility, and creating an environment that is fun for everyone to work in very important.
