Though most of the old palace no longer exist, some of the buildings have been reconstructed in the last 30-40 years around a beautiful pond and park grounds. From the pictures, I expected a large palace; however, the grounds are much smaller and scarce than i imagined. Still a decent place to relax and enjoy a walk.

Very beautiful place to walk around. Definitely go later in the afternoon maybe an hour or so before sundown and get a seat at the bottom by the pond and see the magic as the lights all turn on.

You will enjoy time travel to Silla dynasty. Walk slowly along the pond and feel full of luxury, elegant, brilliant heritage.

Amazing views! It’s so beautiful especially at night with all the lightings. The reflection on the water makes it more scenic. It shows the beauty of Silla dynasty’s architecture.

This is the eastern Palace... Worth taking a look at on the way to the Gyeonju National Museum.. This a reconstructed building which has the usual grace of the Eastern Architecture. Inside it has a model replica of how the palace might have looked like.. I think the excavations are still underway.. So strictly stick to the marked paths.. And please read every bit of details that is displayed coz it is really interesting...

Definitely worth it to go in the evening. It's probably better to visit in early spring or late fall, because the best views are at night and during the sunset. A bunch of people wait for nightfall on the opposite shore for hours. But honestly you can get a good view from several spots.

Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond in Gyeongju Province is a man-made pond in Gyeongju National Park, South Korea. Entrance is very cheap at 2,000won or Php95 in our money. It is a little hot in Mid-April especially during lunch so be sure to apply some sunblock to your skin but there wind can be so harsh at times.

Beautiful night time views. I’d recommend going about a half hour before sunset. There is some interesting history, some artifacts (don’t think they are the originals) and a model of what the original grounds may have looked like. The park isn’t too big and there are many great photos to take.
