★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1979년 3월 최종택(崔鍾澤)이 운영하는 학교법인 설봉학원(雪峰學園)에서 설립하였다. 최종택은 후진양성과 육영에 뜻을 두고 설봉장학회를 운영해 오다가, 그 뜻을 더욱 현실적으로 실현시키기 위하여 동래여자전문대학을 설립하고 경영과, 관광과, 도서관과, 의상과, 식품영영양과, 보육과의 6개 학과에 정원 480명으로 출발하였다.
1996년 11월에 남녀공학으로 전환하고, 교명을 동부산전문대학으로 변경하였다. 1998년 5월 동부산대학으로 교명을 변경하였다. 제18차 고등교육법 개정에 따라 2012년 2월 현재의 명칭인 동부산대학교로 교명을 변경하였다.
Founded in March 1979 at Seolbong Academy, a school corporation run by Choi Jong-taek. Choeong-taek ran the Seolbong Scholarship Society with the intention of nurturing backwards and nurturing, and founded Dongnae Women's Junior College to realize the meaning more realistically. We started with 480 students in six departments.
In November 1996, it changed to coeducational and changed its name to Dongbu Mountain College. In May 1998, the name was changed to Dongbu University. In accordance with the 18th Amendment to the Higher Education Act, the name was changed to Dongbu University, the current name in February 2012.

기숙사는 6인실로 밀도가 높고 개선이 필요하며,구내식당 또한 급식의 질이 떨어져 많은 수의 학생들이 교외에 이용하는 편이다.
