★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 구미시 선산읍에서 조남로를 따라 동쪽으로 승용차로 10여분 정도간 도로의 좌측편 농로에 인접하여 위치한다.
독동리에 마을이 처음 생겨날 때 마을의 입향조가 심은 것이라 전하며, 수령이 400여년 정도이다. 반송은 소나무과에 속하며, 나무의 높이는 13m, 가지의 길이는 동-서로 19.5m, 남-북으로 20.6m 이다. 지상 40cm 높이에서 가지가 남-북 2개로 갈라져 있다. 반송의 밑 둘레가 1.7m 가량이다. 반송은 우리나라에서 가장 크고 오래된 것 중의 하나이며, 생물학적 자료로 가치가 높아 1988년 9월 30일 국가문화재인 천연기념물로 지정되었다. 벼가 익어가는 황금들판에 우뚝 속은 소나무는 한폭의 산수화를 보는 듯 하다.
 It is located adjacent to the farm road on the left side of the road for about 10 minutes by car from Seonsan-eup, Gumi-si, along Jonam-ro to the east.
It is said that it was planted by Iphyangjo of the village when the village was first established in Dokdong-ri, and it is about 400 years old. Bansong belongs to the family Pineaceae, the height of the tree is 13m, the length of the branches is 19.5m from east to west, and 20.6m from north to south. At a height of 40cm above the ground, the branch is divided into two north-south branches. The circumference of the bottom of the conveyance is about 1.7m. Bansong is one of the largest and oldest in Korea, and because of its high value as a biological material, on September 30, 1988, it was designated as a national cultural asset, a natural monument. The pine trees standing tall in the golden fields where rice is ripening seem to be watching a landscape painting.
