The plaza in front of the station, and the nearby commercial street, have just about anything you might want, from hotels, restaurants, shopping, etc.
Dogye is a coal mining town, but, it seems very clean and orderly despite this. There is also a branch of Gangwon (Kangwon) National University (KNU) in town, so there are many young people here.
