★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very unique and hidden gem in recently booming Seongsudong area. Originally a fine tailor, the owner has a side project (or you might call it a hobby), a wine bar. Small bar with about 5 to 6 seats, this wine bar is operated almost exclusively private. The place has long list of wines from different continents but focused heavily on French and Italian. Price tag is not very welcoming but the food is relatively cheap, instead. You could bring your own bottles but corkage is bit high KRW 50,000 (abt. 45 dollars.) The owner definitely has a taste, quite natural considering his main (is it?) business - a tailor. Tablewares, wine glasses and cutleries are unmistakably premium ones. The owner himself obviously loves wine and fixes random plates daily. It could be very casual but also could be very fine one as well. Very keen on customer feedback, he could sometimes jump into conversation and could grab his own glass to join. Didn’t realize time was so late since he was laying seemingly endless dishes. We ended up with a grappa in a finished espresso cup as old Italians do. Loved the atmosphere and moved by the exquisite and friendly service. Defined going back with another bottle of unknown wine. 4 stars might seem not too great to some people, but this means alot. Definitely going back with the gang soon. Recommended for real wine lovers!
