창덕궁 후원 앞에 위치한 대각사는 1911년 창건되었다. 불교 포교단체 중 하나인 대각회의 사찰이다. 용성스님의 제자들이 스님의 창립 정신과 대각사상을 드러내기 위해 설립한 것으로 알려져 있다. 1986년 대각사 내의 건물을 철거하고 신축건물을 지었다고 한다.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5호선 종로3가역 7번출구에서 창경궁으로. 가자면 중간쯤 오른쪽 골목안에 있는 사찰이다. 근대불교의 상징으로 용성스님이 거주하던 한옥을 1987년 재건립 하였고 솔바람과 풍경소리 대신 도심의 소음과 한옥마을속에 자리하고 있는 3층 현대식 사찰이다. 3.1운동의 민족대표였던 백용성스님이 거주하던 곳이다.
 Line 5, Jongno 3-ga Station, exit 7 to Changgyeonggung. It is a temple in the middle of the right alley. It was rebuilt in 1987, a symbol of modern Buddhism, where Yongsung monk resides. It is a three-story modern temple located in the noise of the city center and the hanok village instead of the sound of wind and landscape. 3.1 It was the residence of the monk Baekseong, who was the national representative of the movement.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Established in 1911 by priest Yongseong with the goal of propagating the teachings of Supreme Enlightenment. The temple was the venue of the ceremony celebrating the homecoming of the members of the Korean Provisional Government including President Kim Gu, held on December 12, 1945 and also houses the Foundation of Supreme Enlightenment, an institution commemorating the life and achievements of Priest Yongseong.
