★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1924년 개교 후 무학초와 대촌동초를 분리개교 시킨 학교다. 2002년 대촌동초가 폐교되어 다시 학생과 학적을 통합 흡수한 기구한 연도 가지고 있다. 오랫동안 광주외곽 지역의 터줏대감 역할을 해온 학교이지만 이제 곧 엄청난 변화가 예상되고 변화에 따른 역할도 기다리고 있다.
현재 인근에 건설중인 대규모 에너지산단과 아파트주거단지 등이 들어서게 되면 인근 광주전남 혁신도시와 함께 시너지 효과 발생이 예상되며 그에 따라 학교규모가 폭발적으로 늘어날 확율이 높다.
 After opening in 1924, Muhak Elementary School and Daechon-dong Elementary School were opened separately. Daechon-dongcho was closed in 2002, and it has an institutional year that integrated and absorbed students and scholars. It is a school that has played a role in the suburbs of Gwangju for a long time, but a tremendous change is expected soon and the role of the change is waiting.
When large-scale energy industrial complexes and apartment housing complexes currently under construction are constructed, synergy effects are expected with the neighboring Gwangju-Jeonnam Innovation City, and accordingly, there is a high probability that the school size will expand explosively.
