기독교대한감리회 종로지방 소속의 교회. 미국 남감리회 소속으로 중국에서 사역하다 한국에 파송된 여선교사 캠벨(J.P. Campbell)이 세운 배화학당 기도실에서 1900년 4월 15일 부활주일에 설립되었다. 처음에 18명의 세례 교인으로 시작하였으나 학교(배화학당)를 중심으로 학생을 비롯한 교인들이 늘어나자 1901년 9월 루이스(Louis)와 워커(Walker) 두 여신도의 기부금으로 2층 벽돌 예배당을 건축하였다.
그 후 1910년 현재 위치에 붉은 벽돌로 2층 높이의 T자형 고딕 양식의 예배당을 건축하였다. 1919-1921년에는 양주삼 목사가 종교교회를 담임하였다. 그러다 일제 강점기와 6.25전쟁을 거친 후 1959년 554평 규모의 석조 예배당을 건축하였고, 1970년 설립 70주년을 기념하는 「종교교회 70년사」를 편찬했다. 2003년 3월 최이우 목사가 제22대 담임으로 취임하여 현재까지 교회를 섬기고 있으며 2010년 4월 18일 설립 110주년 기념 감사예배를 드렸다. 서울시 종로구 사직로 8길 (도렴동)에 위치한다

Christian Korean Methodist Church in Jongno. Founded on April 15, 1900, on a revival day in the Bae Cheongdang Prayer Room, founded by J.P. Campbell, who was sent to China as a member of the American Methodist Association. The first baptismal church started with 18 members, but the school (Bascheist) started to build a two-story brick chapel with donations from both Louis and Walker.
Later, in 1910, a two-story T-shaped Gothic style chapel was built of red brick. In 1919-1921, Pastor Yangju Samcheok served as a religious church. After the Japanese colonial rule and the Korean War, they built a 554-pyeong stone chapel in 1959 and compiled the 70-year history of the Religious Church, which celebrates its 70th anniversary in 1970. In March 2003, Rev. Choi Choi took office as the 22nd teacher, serving the church to this day, and on April 18, 2010, he celebrated the 110th anniversary. Located in Sajik-ro 8-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 처음찾은 종교교회는 100년의 전통을 지닌 교회였고 낮선 이방인임에도 친절하게 안내 해주시는 집사님 때문에 2018년 마지막주 예배를 드릴 수 있어 감사드린다.
또한 예배 후 지하에서 식사도 감사히 잘 먹었습니다.
그속에서 각기다른 재능기부와 노력봉사로 주님의 성전을 깨끗게하고 사랑으로 대하시는 모습은 주님의 보혈로 사랑의 은혜를 입은 천사의 모습 이라는 표현말고는 달리 할 말이없습니다.
다시한번 감사를 드립니다.
오늘 종교교회에서 많은 은혜받고 갑니다.
목사님의 설교말씀 또한 제미음속 깊은곳에 자리잡고 말았네요.
서울에 오게되먼 다시 찾아오려 합니다.
The first religious church I visited was a church with a 100-year tradition, and I am grateful to be able to hold worship services in the last week of 2018 because of the deacon who kindly guides me even though I am a stranger.
Also, we ate well in the basement after worship.
In the midst of this, there is nothing to say other than the expression of an angel who received the grace of love through the blood of the Lord to clean the temple of the Lord and treat it with love through various talent donations and hard work.

Pastor's sermons have also settled deep within the sound of Jemi.
When I come to Seoul, I want to come back again.
