★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an incredible park on the grounds of the former U.S. Army base. The grounds are expansive but well tended (and attended) throughout the year. There are a number of play areas for children including elaborate forts and slides, an inflatable bounce hill, and a large geodesic-climbing-jungle-gym. (Oddly given the amount of offerings there only seems to be one swing.) There are a couple stands for food and drink and a small theatre that has children’s movies. In the summer, there are also a number of very pretty fountains. In winter, the park is still bustling but many of the play areas are closed on Mondays.
