★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Let me preface this by saying that I have been banking in Korea with KEB for 16 years. I chose this bank because one of their main selling features is English service. I have generally been happy with KEB as a banking institution. However, this is the worst branch of KEB Hana I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure to deal with!! ( This review is not based on one experience, I have been there numerous times of the past 4 or 5 years) The wait times are incredibly long even though there aren't many people in there. They have a section for foreigners only, which is only manned by two people. First, why should the foreign customers be separated from everyone else? Is their money/business worth less to the bank? You might be thinking, well that because the tellers have to speak to them in a different language, like possibly English...you know the language of business worldwide. But no! That's definitely not the reason, because absolutely none of them working there speak English! ( As mentioned earlier, one of the main reasons I chose this bank was their boast of English service) So my question then becomes, if they are just going to speak Korean to all the customers, why do the foreign customers have to wait 10 times as long for service compared to the bank's Korean customers? Why is there a separate section where foreigners have to do their banking?
In the Korean section they have 10 or 12 tellers. Korean customers fly in and out of there with almost no wait times whatsoever. If I have to do banking with the tellers, I have to take the day off work because that's how long it takes to get served there! This bank is mostly populated by foreign customers and I have waited over three hours for service before and then had to pay for parking in the banks parking area on top of that!! Ridiculous!! The tellers working in the foreigner section don't speak any English or any other language for that matter, and the service is extremely slow!! Avoid this branch of KEB Hana at all costs. Go to another branch! Even if it is further away and you have to take a bus there and back. You will be finished your banking and be back home before you ever get service here!
