★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 38국도는 위에 놓여 있는 영월1터널은 영월읍 우회도로이기도 하지만 태백시로 들어가는 자동차의 전용도로로서 중요한 역할을 담당하는 터널 중 하나이다. 영동고속도로, 중앙고속도로 그리고 평택과 제천을 잇는 강원 남부의 내륙지역을 관통하는데 꼭 필요한 터널이다. 이와 같이 영월1터널은 천연자원 중 광업, 임업, 농업 분야와 최근에는 관광산업 분야에서도 중요한 몫을 담당하고 있어 강원남부 영서지방의 대동맥이라고 할 수 있는 제일의 영월1터널이다.
 38 Yeongwol 1 Tunnel, which is located on the national highway, is one of the tunnels that play an important role as the exclusive road of the automobile entering the Taebaek city even though it is a bypass road of Yeongwol-eup. Yeongdong Expressway, Jungang Expressway, and Pyeongtaek and Jecheon. Thus, Yeongwol 1 Tunnel is one of the most important Yeongwol 1 Tunnels which can be regarded as the main artery of the Yeongseo region in southern Gangwon Province, because it plays an important role in mining, forestry, agriculture and recently tourism industry.
